BJC and WUSM announce winners of 2021-2022 Big Ideas Competition

From among 29 applications and 11 finalists, six winners have been selected for the 2021-2022 Big Ideas Competition award!

From among 29 applications and 11 finalists, six winners have been selected for the 2021-2022 Big Ideas Competition award! Congratulations to all the winners including three I2 faculty, Thomas Kannampallil, PhD, Albert M. Lai, PhD, FACMI, FAMIA, and Patrick G. Lyons, MD, MSc.

Sponsored by the Healthcare Innovation Lab (the Lab) and Washington University Institute for Informatics (I2),the Big Ideas Competition was created to identify and support high-priority, novel projects from collaborative clinical, operational and research teams that are developing innovations in informatics and health care delivery. The competition was judged by leadership of BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine. Drs. Thomas Maddox, Executive Director of the Lab, and Philip Payne, Director of I2, would like to thank Drs. Simon Haroutounian, Patrick Lyons and Michele Thomas for their assistance in reviewing the finalists’ applications.

Each of the six winning teams listed below will be awarded a grant of $50,000 in research funds.
