This talk, part of the Institute for Informatics (I2) Special Speaker Seminar Series, will feature Dr. Sunny Lin, Assistant Professor in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. Dr. Lin’s research centers around the role of policy and health payments in facilitating care coordination. Her work explores the impact of payment reform, technology, and referral networks on patient experience, quality, and cost of care.

In this talk, Dr. Lin will discuss the development and role of electronic Health Information Exchange (HIE) in the United States—including the way our unique payment system has shaped information sharing networks’ participation and use, and implications for using HIE to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
