June 20, 2019, 4:30 pm — 5:30 pm

Venture Café, Havana Room
4240 Duncan Ave
St. Louis, MO 63110

The Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS), in collaboration with Venture Café, is hosting Precision Medicine Series on the third Thursday of every month! This month, join us to hear two scholars from Washington University, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Farshid Guilak, PhD and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, Jeffrey R. Millman, PhD, to talk about their work in stem cell therapy. Dr. Guilak will talk about his development of “designer” stem cells that can be engineered into different tissues or organs for treating various diseases such as arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Millman will discuss how he has used stem cell biology and bioengineering to develop insulin-producing organoid technologies which have the potential to revolutionize diabetes healthcare.
