Janet and Bernard Becker Professor and Institute Director, Dr. Philip Payne, has been elected to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows. AIMBE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “provide leadership and advocacy in medical and biological engineering for the benefit of society.” Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to a medical and biological engineer. They are nominated each year by their peers, and represent the top two percent of the medical and biological community. The AIMBE College of Fellows consists of esteemed clinicians, industry professionals, academics and scientists, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions in research, industrial practice and/or education. Fellows of this elite group of prestigious medical and biological engineers include Nobel laureates, Presidential Medal winners and members of the National Academies. Join us on March 26, 2021 for the prestigious induction ceremony of the AIMBE College of Fellows Class of 2021, announcing the election of 174 new members to the College in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements.
