From the Lab to the Clinic: Moving from Drug Discovery to Drug Development

The Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS), in collaboration with Venture Café, is hosting Precision Medicine Series on the third Thursday of every month! This month at ICTS Precision Medicine Thursday, Saint Louis University researchers Drs. David Grigg and Fran Sverdrup will discuss their experiences with attracting and developing drug discovery partnerships with industry. Dr. Griggs will speak about his experience in forming and working with a startup company conducting clinical trials for organ fibrosis, and considers strategies to become a “partner of choice” in the evolving drug development landscape. Dr. Sverdrup will discuss his inspiration to find a treatment for Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) and his effort to successfully attract pharmaceutical interest and foster a long-term partnership.
