Join Zoom Meeting: https://vencafstl.org/virtual/
The Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS), in collaboration with Venture Café, is hosting Precision Medicine Series on the third Thursday of every month! This month at ICTS Precision Medicine Thursday, join us to hear two scholars from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Jeffrey Millman, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Lipid Research within the Department of Internal Medicine, and Mohamed Zayed, MD, PhD, FACS, Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Vascular Surgery Section within the Department of Surgery.
Join us virtually this month to learn about innovative therapies being developed at Washington University to tackle two of our most prevalent chronic diseases – diabetes and kidney disease. Dr. Jeffrey Millman will discuss how the generation of insulin-producing cells from stem cells can be used in drug screening and cell replacement therapy with the potential to revolutionize next generation treatment for diabetes patients, while Dr. Mohamed Zayed will explain an innovative use of arteriovenous grafts as a cell and drug-delivery platform for treatment of kidney disease.
