The Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS), in collaboration with Venture Café, is hosting Precision Medicine Series on the third Thursday of every month! This month at Precision Medicine Thursdays at Venture Café, join us to hear two innovators at Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Justin Sacks, Shoenberg Professor and Chief of Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery, and Dr. Matthew MacEwan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery and Chief Science Officer at Acera Surgical, Inc.
Drs. Justin Sacks and Matthew MacEwan will discuss their unique pathways from development to commercialization. Justin Sacks, a plastic surgeon, will talk about the “Mercury Patch,” a single-use disposable device for preventing pressure ulcers. Matthew MacEwan will discuss his development of the first resorbable synthetic nanofiber matrix approved for treatment of chronic wounds.
