This talk, part of the G-CHIL Webinar Series of The Future of Healthcare – Post-Covid: Perspectives from Leaders on the Frontline of Change, will feature Dr. Lisa Simpson, President & CEO of AcademyHealth. Based on extensive research convened by AcademyHealth, Lisa’s talk will provide an overview of AcademyHealth’s portfolio of research, advocacy, and cross-sectional convening activities. An introduction will be delivered by Dr. Philip Payne, Founding Director of the Institute for Informatics (I2) at Washington University in St. Louis.

Lisa will provide a sweeping assessment of the state of US healthcare today, and the pivot point it has reached – highlighted by Covid and focusing on how we can move forward through cross-sector collaboration in order to build a high value, equitable healthcare system, informed by what policies, financing models, and market based approaches work and don’t work.

From extensive engagement with policy makers and government, Lisa will provide a behind the scenes look of decision-making in Washington and her read on Washington with the incoming Biden administration as it relates to healthcare, health policy, and the future of healthcare innovation.
