REDCap is a free, secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. Its secure method of flexible yet robust data collection is geared specifically to support online or offline data capture for research studies and operations.

REDCap helps researchers build, manage, extract and analyze their data. Through a simple questionnaire or a complex multi-site longitudinal study, REDCap allows researchers to quickly and easily take research from conception to production in days.

Surveys are accessible with a simple web link, a customizable email invitation, or through third-party phone/SMS services. Role-based web authentication allows global collaboration. Powerful tools like auto validation, calculated fields and dynamic SQL, enable data reporting directly or via export into an advanced statistical package such as SAS, Stata, R, or SPSS.

At Washington University in St. Louis, email the REDCap Helpdesk at redcap_helpdesk@wustl.edu to request support. In addition, Bernard Becker Medical Library offers an array of beginner and advanced REDCap Workshops to help you use REDCap better; videos of previous REDCap Workshops can be found here. Email Chris Sorensen at sorensenc@wustl.edu with questions about upcoming or previously recorded workshops.
